It is a long challenging trail over the slopes of Caras river valley. A round trip which starts where Caras river springs and follows the river for a while. It is a spectacular limestone area with caves and sinkholes, bordered by white limestone cliffs. Go past Comarnic cave, one of the largest and most beautiful caves in Banat and Romania, then through Iabalcea, a unique and very picturesque village, where you can enjoy a beer break. Continue over Caras Gorge, on narrow paths and reach the ruins of Turcului Fortress (Grat). The landscape over the steep Caras valley is impressive. Descend to Carasova and enter the forest road to Socolovat hill (Moghila). You are on the opposite side of Caras Gorge and you will soon enter Buhui valley, major tributary of Caras. It is a very spectacular mountain bike trail for experienced bikers with a good physical condition, but also a challenge for those who are not very well-trained.
