The trail starts in the town of Borsa, near Repede Stream, and for 19 km you will have the opportunity to warm up on the way up to Prislop Pass. The climb is entirely on the asphalt, but once you get to the elevation of 1,416 m in the pass, you are rewarded for the effort with a wide panoramic view of the peaks on the main ridge of Rodnei Mountains. After a short break, continue southwest, bike through the yard of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Monastery (Prislop Monastery) situated in the pass and get ready for the switchbacks. You are on the red triangle marking that you follow up to Stiol Meadow. From this point, follow the blue stripe marking towards Gargalau Saddle. Depending on your condition and bike skills, there are several parts on this section where you may have to push the bike. When you get to 1,907 m in Gargalau Saddle you literally get to the intersection with the main ridge of Rodnei Mountains. Follow the red stripe marking to the west and cycle on the so-called „boulevard”. There will be no need to get off the bike on this section of the trail. Reach Galatului Saddle and start a long descent from about 1,900 m to approximately 700 m down in the town. There are several technical sections alternating with lighter ones, as well as speedy descents or short back slopes on the way down. As Rodnei Mountains are known for the presence of the beautiful Rhododendrons, it is recommended to bike the trail in June during the blooming season.
