This round trip to the western extremity of Rodnei Mountains is quite difficult considering that you climb from 600 meters to almost 2,000 meters on the main ridge. The starting point is in Stramba Valley in the village of Romuli. The trail is accompanied by the red triangle tourist marking, which you follow up to Zavoaiele Borcutului. Here, turn left on Nistor Valley and climb towards Pietrii Pass, but just before reaching the pass, turn right to get closer to Batrana Peak. The last part is an intense push bike, but the panorama at the end of it is breathtaking. You will surely feel the need to have a break, and after looking at the map and the sights you can see the rest of the route. The red stripe sign joins the alpine road that heads to Tarnita la Cruce Saddle, your destination. After a long and smooth section, your biking skills will be tested during the climb up to the saddle. Once you get there, you will discover that you are surrounded by peaks with heights over 2,000 meters. After a well-deserved break, return on the same route.
