This trail is by definition a road cycling trail that mostly follows, with few exceptions, less-traveled county roads, taking you through beautiful villages with traditional wooden churches of Maramures. The starting point is at the end of Rozavlea village, where you immediately cross Iza waters and reach the neighboring village of Sieu. From here, head towards the SW to get to Botiza, where you follow DJ186D county road and start the long climb on Sasului Valley. The asphalt is further replaced by a gravel road and you continue on this one until you reach Poienile Izei, where you can have a well-deserved break and visit the beautiful wooden church listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afterwards, climb the winding gravel road and then descend to the village of Glod. Here you return onto the asphalt, a road that is less traveled, and head towards Slatioara and then on DJ186 county road along Iza Valley. You can make a little detour to the west (about 1.5 km) to visit the beautiful Orthodox Monastery of the Synaxis of the 12 Apostles (Barsana Monastery) or if not, bike east and return to Rozavlea on DJ186 county road to close the loop trail.
